True Grit Art Gallery is set to showcase a unique blend of poetry and visual art in its upcoming exhibition, ‘Poetic Visions,’ running from Sept. 14 to Sept. 28.
The gallery will host an opening reception on Sept. 14 from 6 to 8 p.m., where visitors can explore the artwork and listen to local poets recite their work. The event is free and open to the public.
The exhibition merges visual art with poetry, offering a creative interpretation of the written word. Earlier this summer, local poets were invited to submit their work, and five poems were selected. These poems were then randomly assigned to 40 visual artists, who were tasked with translating the poetry into art. Both the artwork and the corresponding poems will be displayed together at the gallery on the opening night of ‘Poetic Visions.’
True Grit Art Gallery is located at 38 Center St., Middleboro, and the exhibition can be viewed during the gallery’s regular business hours.
