Shivani, a third-year BA student at Indira Gandhi Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Kaithal, achieved first place in a poetry recitation competition at the national integration camp. Principal Dr. Aarti Garg noted that the camp, held recently at SD College in Panipat, was organized by the NSS Cell of Kurukshetra University under the guidance of the Higher Education Department of Haryana. The event saw the participation of 200 NSS volunteers from 17 states. Ram Bahadur Khurania, president of the college management committee, congratulated Shivani and awarded her a prize to honor her accomplishment.
Warm Send-Off for Principal at Guru Nanak Khalsa College
The Guru Nanak Khalsa College Managing Committee, along with the teaching and non-teaching staff from various affiliated colleges and the GNK Alumni Association, organized a farewell ceremony for Principal Major Harinder Singh Kang on his retirement. Principal Kang, who joined Guru Nanak Khalsa College in August 1989 and became principal in August 2019, was celebrated for his 28 years of dedication to the NCC. His service was marked by several awards, including honors from the district administration, the NCC director general, and a commandant medal from his pre-commission course. Under his leadership, numerous cadets have gone on to serve in the Indian Army, police, and other sectors.
In his farewell speech, Dr. Kang expressed gratitude for the support he received throughout his career, calling it a privilege to contribute to the growth of students and cadets. Major RS Bhatti, vice-president of the managing committee, along with general secretary Sardar Balwant Singh Banga and Sardar Tirlok Singh, presented Dr. Kang with a token of appreciation for his exceptional service.
