“Ask me what I mean to perch on Bishan, smile without answering the heart is idle.” Standing on the top of the Baizhao Mountain in Anlu, Hubei Province, the reporter finally understood the deep meaning of Li Bai’s “Questions and Answers in the Mountain”. Today, there are still 18 ruins in the mountains, witnessing his creation of 106 masterpieces such as “Silent Night Thoughts”.

In the memorial hall of Li Bai halfway up the mountain, more than 400 pieces of Tang Dynasty cultural relics and poetry manuscripts vividly restore the style of “prosperous Li Bai”. The 32.5-meter-high statue of Li Bai at the top of the mountain stands majestically above the mountains, just like the heroic portrayal of “I am a madman of Chu”.

Zhang Jian ‘an, secretary general of Hubei Poetry Society, pointed out that Li Bai’s self-professed “wine hidden in an land, wasting ten years” was a humble speech. During these ten years, he not only completed the marriage event, but also realized the artistic transformation – getting rid of the bondage of the court poetry style, forming the natural poetry style of “water out of hibiscus”. “Yellow Crane Tower to Meng Haoran’s Guangling” and other famous works were born here.
Walking in the mountains, the reporter found that Li Bai’s influence has been integrated into the blood of the city. Poetry sculptures can be seen everywhere in Anlu city, and the annual Li Bai Cultural Tourism Festival attracts 100,000 students to study. Local folk legends such as “fairy companion reading” were declared as provincial intangible cultural heritage, and more than 30 monographs were published to deepen the research.
“We are building ‘digital Li Bai’.” The head of the cultural tourism department said that in the future, innovative projects such as “hermit community” will be built to make the millennium poetry full of modern vitality. As Zhao Yi said in the Qing Dynasty, “there are talents in the Jiangshan generation”, and the small town of Anlu will always treasure the starting point of the “leading style” of the poetry fairy.
