Haiku and Blue Mountain Poems

GAITHERSBURG, Md., Aug. 26, 2024 — Author Robert N. Britcher has released a new poetry book titled Haiku and Blue Mountain Poems. This work blends classical Japanese haiku with Britcher’s reflective longer poems, inviting readers to explore both nature and the subtleties of human life.

The book is divided into two sections. The first part features traditional haikus, while the second part includes Britcher’s Blue Mountain Poems.

“I wanted to capture my intuition in print,” Britcher said. “Inspiration comes from a mix of experiences, memories, and the arts. Poetry, like music, combines inspiration, reason, and sometimes the irrational.”

Britcher aims to introduce or reintroduce readers to classical Japanese haiku. His unique approach draws on human nature, current events, and the world at large. This thematic exploration extends into his longer poems.

“Poetry is for everyone,” Britcher said. “It benefits people of all ages and backgrounds. Writing poetry is therapeutic; it helps us slow down, reflect, and become more aware of ourselves and our surroundings. Our words and grammar mirror what we see, hear, feel, imagine, and do.”
