This evening, a generous donation will be presented to the Dillon Quirke Foundation.
The foundation was established in memory of Dillon Quirke, who tragically died of Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADS) after collapsing during a hurling match on August 5, 2022.
Each year, SADS claims the lives of 100 young people. The foundation’s mission is to raise awareness and save lives by screening all GAA players, both male and female, starting at age 12.
Martin Quinn from Bansha wrote a poem to honor Dillon. He had several copies printed and sold, and also received a donation from a group that was disbanding.
Tonight, a cheque for over €1,800 will be presented to Dillon’s father, Dan. The event will take place at 7:00 PM at the Porter House on Bank Place in Tipp Town.
