The Wilkes Art Gallery will host the Players and Poets Open Mic Night on September 20. This event celebrates local musicians and writers, providing a welcoming space for performances. Sign-ups will begin at 6 p.m., and performances will start at 6:30 p.m.
This open mic night is free and open to all ages. Musicians and poets of any genre are welcome to share their work. Concessions will be available, and a donation is recommended. Attendees can also enjoy the exhibit “Memento Vivere,” featuring works by Cindy Taplin, Lori Hill, Lucas Hundley, and Nancy Brittelle.
The Wilkes Art Gallery is located at 913 C Street / Ward Nichols Way in North Wilkesboro. It is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission to exhibitions, openings, and community events is free.
