Renowned poet, writer, and dramatist Harihar Mishra has passed away at his home following a brief illness. He was 84 years old. Mishra was known for his versatility and made a significant mark as a poet, playwright, translator, and actor throughout his distinguished career.
He taught at various colleges and authored numerous poems. From 2016 to 2021, Mishra served as the president of the Odisha Sahitya Akademi. He received several awards for his contributions to literature, including the prestigious Sarala Puraskar, Bishuba Puraskar, and the Odisha Sahitya Akademi Award.
Born on January 20, 1940, Mishra was a retired principal of a college in Puri. He was recognized for his diverse talents, both as a dramatist and a writer of prose and poetry. His notable works include the radio drama Chilika Tire and the acclaimed poetry collection Dibya Asantosh.
