Join poet, artist, and educator Steven Reigns for a special reading featuring the work of LGBTQ+ seniors. This event marks the conclusion of Reigns’ autobiographical poetry writing workshop series, which took place from August to October 2024. The workshop was supported by the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs.
The poems presented during this reading will delve into themes of love, identity, struggle, and triumph. Each participating poet will share their unique perspective, drawing from a rich tapestry of experiences that span different generations and cultures. The readings aim to entertain and inspire, while also promoting a deeper understanding of LGBTQ+ seniors’ history and their ongoing contributions to the community.
The reading is scheduled for Saturday, October 12, 2024, from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. at MCC United Church of Christ in the Valley.
