Dr. John Cooper Clarke has confirmed three significant shows for spring 2025, featuring a lineup of special guests. These performances will take place in celebration of World Poetry Day.
Clarke will perform at the London Palladium on March 19, Nottingham’s Royal Concert Hall on March 21, and Manchester’s Co-op Live on March 29. This marks his largest audience yet as he shares his poetry.
The punk poet will deliver classic pieces like “Chickentown” and “Beasley Street,” along with new material from his latest collection, What. He will be accompanied by Jan Brierton at all three venues. Additionally, John Agard will join him in London, Henry Normal in Nottingham, and Linton Kwesi Johnson in Manchester. Tickets for the shows will be available for purchase starting at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 18.
This announcement also coincides with Clarke’s collaboration with the Co-op Group on a poem titled Proper Sound. This piece pays homage to Manchester, its residents, and the newly established Co-op Live venue.
Clarke, who hails from Salford, last released music in 2017 with This Time It’s Personal, a collaborative album with Hugh Cornwell of The Stranglers.
