Kochi is set to honor the legacy of renowned poet Sugathakumari as her 90th birthday celebrations commence on November 1. The event will be inaugurated by Suresh Gopi, the Union Minister of State for Petroleum, Natural Gas, and Tourism, at the Cochin Refineries School in Thiruvaniyur, starting at 7:30 a.m.
The celebration will feature M. Sankar, the executive director of BPCL Kochi Refineries, as the chief guest. In addition to the inaugural address, prominent speakers Kummanam Rajasekharan and architect Sankar will share their insights on Sugathakumari’s contributions to literature and society.
Sugathakumari, celebrated for her poignant poetry and advocacy for social issues, has left an indelible mark on the cultural landscape of Kerala.
