The SOWAL Foundation Poets Society, in partnership with Emerald Coast Storytellers, will host its inaugural poetry night at the SOWAL House on November 6. This event aims to celebrate the beatnik spirit by merging poetry and music.
The evening is designed to capture the expressive energy of the 1960s beat generation. It promises to be a night of creativity and community for residents of Walton County.
Doors will open at 6 p.m., with bar service available. Performances will start at 7 p.m. Each show will feature ten selected performers, each allowed six minutes to share their craft, whether it be poetry, storytelling, or music.
The event will include introductions for performers and opportunities to discuss their artistic processes. Attendees can enjoy background music and walkout songs to enhance their performances.
A recommended donation of $10 to $20 per person will support the SOFO community. QR codes for contributions will be available at the event.
The poetry night will take place at SOWAL House, located at 82 S. Barrett Square in Inlet Beach.
